John’s involvement with photography has lasted for more than a quarter of a century, although schooled in the use of film John embraced the digital age a long time ago. A discerning Black Country photographer who sees digital imaging as a tool rather than a box of tricks, a photographer whose images are linked by a natural instinct for subject arrangement and attention to detail. His approach to photography is spontaneous – seeking to recapture for the viewer the same mood and atmosphere that drew him to the subject in the first place.
As an enthusiastic exhibitor, John has been fortunate in having many of his images accepted into British Photographic Exhibitions (BPE). In October, 2011 John was awarded his fifth British Photographic Exhibition Crown Award (BPE5*), having gained no fewer than 300 acceptances in UK National Exhibitions. Much of what you see on this website represents John’s exhibition work.
In December, 2010 John was awarded a Distinction (DPAGB) from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain, see DPAGB Gallery. He also enjoys repeated success in many of the International exhibitions and was awarded his EFIAP in March, 2011.
John is now working towards his Masters distinction for his MPAGB and MFIAP.
